Poppy

Poppy was born in London in September 2007 and spent the first two years of her life living between London and New York. In 2010 she moved back to Auckland and was shortly joined by her sister Clover who was born in March 2010.

Poppy began kindergarten in 2011 at Mount Eden Kindergarten, followed by primary school in 2013 at Mount Eden Normal Primary School before moving on to Kowhai Intermediate in 2019.

In 2021 Poppy began at Epsom Girls Grammar School.

Poppy suffered from anxiety and ADHD and her first and second years at school were marked by stress and absence as she battled these issues. However, she found a strong friend group at the school which helped her increase her confidence and she quickly began to thrive.

She won the Mathematics prize in 2022 and also in 2023, in 2024 she won the Biology prize and in 2025 was inducted into the Epsom Girls Grammar Scholars role. She was in the debating team and also both the Chinese and Japanese cultural groups and performed at the 2024 and 2025 fia fia evenings.

She volunteered weekends for Mercy Hospice after seeing her Grandmother go through the end stages of cancer at the hospice and was a Peer Support leader for Year 9 girls starting Epsom Girls Grammar knowing the stresses she had personally been through.

Poppy had been planning to study bio-medicine, toxicology and pharmacology at university.

Poppy passed 31 August 2025 in a tragic accident.

She will forever be loved.
